Congrats to Ally and Marianne for receiving the NSF GRFP!!
In a monumental day for the MMOT lab, both NSF GRFP (graduate research fellowship program) applicants, Ally Clarke (BME ’24) and Mariannge Voigt (BME ’24) received the award! The NSF will provide three years of more than $50k per year to each as they pursue their PhDs! Congrats to both!!

MMOT Lab Members Submit NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program Applications!
Good luck to Ally Clarke and Marianne Voigt for submitting their NSF GRFP applications! Marianne and Ally will pursue PhDs focusing on biomechanics after Bucknell. Former lab member Minhaj Bhuiyan ’23 (now at Duke University at the Varghese lab) won the GRFP in the spring of 2023.

MMOT Lab Receives 2 yr/$200k NSF grant!
The proposal, entitled “ERI: A Computational and Experimental Approach to Establishing Multiscale and Multiphasic Structure-Function Mechanisms of Muscle Stiffness” was recently awarded by the National Science Foundation. Funding will enable the MMOT lab to generate multiscale experimental data of passive muscle material properties and develop and validate a multiscale model of muscle tissue! More information…
